FAQ, POLICIES & CONVENTION RULES

Dive into our FAQ & Policies section for the ultimate convention guide.

  • Covid Guidelines
You are not required to be vaccinated. Masks are optional however, stay home if unwell.
  • Be Cool & Have Fun!
Be nice and have fun with your fellow SGCC fans! Any behaviour that is offensive in public should be kept out of our convention.
  • Fanboy & Fangirl Safety
We don’t want anybody to get hurt. Walk, don’t run, especially when you’re getting an autograph or a hot new exclusive toy. Pushing and shoving is not cool at all. Queues are to be expected at entry points for both levels (B2 & L1) - please keep cool! In the meantime, chat with people around you, make friends and take lots of cool photos!
  • Behave
SGCC staff and security have the rights to ask you to leave the event halls if you are behaving inappropriately - and any refund requirements will not be entertained.
  • Cosplay Costumes Policy
There are no restrictions on the genre of costumes that can be worn in the event area. If your costume is military, para-military, or law-enforcement themed, we ask that you remain mindful at all times on how the public may perceive such costumes when they are worn in public. Please clearly make an indication or feature on the costume that would indicate that it is a costume and not a real uniform. This also applies to any costumes that are from, but not limited to, comics, movies, anime, games and manga. If your costume has elements that hide your facial features, you may be asked to remove the feature at any time. This includes, but is not limited to, such items as masks, helmets and bandanas. If your costume is out-sized or has features that protrude excessively, we ask that you take extra care while moving around so as to avoid hitting other attendees or booth structures. SGCC reserves the right to request attendees to change out of costumes that are deemed inappropriate. Examples of inappropriate costumes include ones that publicly expose any parts of genitalia, or overly expose buttocks or breasts; or make cause for public alarm (e.g. a terrorist suicide bomber outfit).
  • Cosplay 101 – Naked is Not a Costume!
SGCC appreciates our cosplayers’ costume making skills and love seeing your beautiful and exciting cosplay outfits. However, we’d appreciate if our cosplayers dress decently. Indecent exposure, overly revealing costumes and nudity are not welcomed at the convention. Click here to understand more.
  • No Sharp Objects
Bag checks will be conducted at entry points at both levels (B2 & L1). Anything sharp or pointy is not allowed into SGCC (e.g. arrow tips, bioshock syringes, wolverine claws, etc). Do make sure they are all soft or blunt. Replica metal-edged weapons (e.g. swords, blades, daggers, throwing weapons and so on) of any length are not allowed at the event, even if the cutting edges are blunt. Items will be confiscated at any time if you are handling it in a way that is deemed threatening.
  • No Functional Projectiles
Prop arrows must have soft, non-metal and blunted tips only. All props that are able to discharge a projectile should be made safe. This includes bows and crossbows (bow strings should be unstrung, or untightened and loose). Nerf guns should be unloaded and batteries should be removed.
  • No Real Firearms and No Firing Replica Firearms
Firearms should only be toy replicas (non-firing and not of real size), or made up of foam or cardboard like material – no bladed weapons, metal, wood, fibreglass, glass, PVC or any other firearms of any kind including air guns. Prop firearm must have a fluorescent tip or a bright coloured cap to indicate that it is not functional. SGCC reserves the right to inspect replica weapons at any time and add identification tags where required. No Explosives / Chemicals - Fireworks, mace, laser pointers, pepper sprays or any sort of biohazard weapons are strictly prohibited. If you are bringing any replica weapons to SGCC, we ask that you remain mindful and transport them to and from the event in a covered bag, e.g. rifle bag for replica firearms or cloth sheath for swords. Only take them out when you are in the event area.
  • Hands Off!
Harassment of any kind, including stalking, deliberate intimidation, and unwelcomed physical attention/assault will not be tolerated. To read up more about our harassment policy, please click here.
  • Keep your Stuff Close
While we don’t want anyone to lose anything, SGCC is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property, and/or injuries sustained during the course of the convention.
  • Keep it Clean
Please do not abuse the convention facilities. This includes putting signs on walls, littering in the convention hall and smoking in the convention hall, amongst a variety of other things. Let's keep our convention clean. Dispose any wastes into bins provided across both levels B2 & L1.
  • Paparazzi
Photography, video recording and audio recording are generally welcomed at SGCC. However, do note that all photography and recording is prohibited during screenings and concerts. Please also understand that certain exhibitors, guests or cosplayers might feel uncomfortable being photographed/filmed. Hence, ask for their permission before shooting and if the answer is no, please respect their wishes.
  • Get Famous
Regional and local media will be covering SGCC. By attending SGCC, you are deemed to have given your consent to be photographed, interviewed or appear on camera. So smile and go along with the ride, who knows – it just might be your chance for your 5 seconds of fame!
  • Autographs
SGCC guests will be on hand at their booths, signing autographs for fans. Requests for a personalised sketch etc. will be solely done at the discretion of each guest. Please respect their wishes when it comes to personalised sketches or photographs. SGCC guests will only sign official licensed merchandise. The number of items may vary depending on the queue situation and this will be sensibly determined by the SGCC staff.
  • Change Happens
Announced events, exhibitors and pop culture personalities are subjected to change and/or cancellation without notice. While every effort will be made to announce the changes on the SGCC website and social media channels, do note that last minute changes might occur.
